Therapy is a process that takes time, but after all, you are worth it.

  • Yes, therapy is a process. There is no set of expectations of what this experience will be. We can place those ought-to, shoulds, and what-ifs on hold. We are both experiencing this process for the first time in this way.

  • The process of therapy takes time. What a shocker, but really, it takes time. Time is needed so you can explore and identify what the issue is. Together we can explore to understand further, what you may want to do about it, if anything, and sort out what’s the head trash that comes up when you think of creating, implementing, or accepting this change.

We will also make time to implement the change as well as time to fine-tune what worked out or didn’t work. It takes time to create growth and healing. We will work together at a pace that works for you. Now, time can mean 4 months of weekly sessions to a year or years. It really depends on so many factors. Sometimes, more time is needed than what you would like - therapy it’s a process and journey, after all, and you are worth it.

  • Yes, your therapist thinks of you outside of our session and genuinely cares about what happens to you in your life. I spend time and energy outside of sessions thinking about clients and how to be of help and support—holding compassion and hope until they can also hold it for themselves. Your therapist wants to embrace the whole human being you are. There is a lot that happens behind the scenes to create the space for you (perhaps for another blog for now).
